Dr. Olayinka Odutola is one of Africa's foremost authorities in risk management — a scholar and practitioner whose career has fundamentally shaped how institutions across the continent understand, measure, and govern risk.
With nearly two decades of academic and professional engagement, Dr. Odutola has produced a body of work that is at once theoretically rigorous and practically consequential. His research interrogates the frameworks of enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and financial risk governance — with a particular focus on the institutional realities of emerging economies.
He has advised governments, financial regulators, and corporate boards. He has trained hundreds of risk professionals. And through his writing and speaking, he has brought serious scholarship to bear on urgent public questions about how organisations and societies can better manage the uncertainties they face.
Dr. Odutola is a committed mentor and educator. He believes that the most important contribution a scholar can make is not just to produce knowledge, but to build the capacity of others to produce and apply it. That conviction animates everything he does — from the classroom to the conference stage to the policy table.
